Throughout the year, MISO employees generously support Make-A-Wish granting over 15 wishes a year. As we approach the holiday season, that kindness and generosity extends to support other needs within our communities while spreading some holiday cheer. Various teams and departments within MISO gather to give back, each in unique way.
Recently the IT-Corporate Support Team from the Carmel office volunteered at the Hamilton County Food Bank. The team participated in the Meijer Simply Give Program where they met at a local Meijer and filled more than 15 carts with food for local families. Team MISO then headed over to the food bank where they learned about the organization and how it helps people in need in Hamilton County.
Employees from our Eagan office are pulling double-duty this year by hosting fundraisers for two local charities: Second Harvest Heartland and Tubman. Taking advantage of modern technology, Eagan employees are hosting a virtual food drive for Second Harvest Heartland. They are collecting funds online that will benefit the hungry within their community. Employees are also donating gifts to Tubman, an organization that helps families through crises.
Carmel employees are participating in the annual Adopt-A-Family event for the Julian Center, a women’s shelter. Employees are purchasing holiday gifts for a designated family as well as items from the center’s Wish List of daily necessities.
One simple act can have a ripple effect within our communities and there is no better time than the present to make some waves. The holidays remind us how truly fortunate we are and that the phrase rings true: giving is receiving.
